I knew it was time to release L.A. to the world when I saw LeBron James win his 4th NBA Championship under the bright lights last Sunday night.
LeBron is a truly inspiring person to me. I love watching his postgame interviews, listening to the way he pours his whole mind and body into his craft.
Even more, I love seeing how he gives his heart and soul to his community: mobilizing poll workers, providing quality education for children in his underserved community, and using his voice to uplift marginalized people in our country.
Sure, I don't dream of winning an NBA championship, but I do dream of making a positive impact on the world, just like King James.
That is what "L.A" is all about.
It is a love song about being inspired to chase every dream, big or small.
When you listen to L.A. my hope is that you feel energized to keep sending love out into the world.
Please help make this world a place where everyone belongs!
What better way to celebrate LeBron's on-court success than to ally ourselves with his inspiring off-court activism! Any money I make on this release will be passed along to the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, an amazing organization that fights to end the disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions. They have partnered with More Than A Vote, James' organization fighting Black voter suppression. I will also match the first $100 that is contributed, so your money may be doubled!
